Who is Trinere?
She is a recording artist who had many dance hits in the 1980s and early 1990s.
 
Where is she from?
Trinere is a Miami native, and most of the record companies that she recorded for were in Miami.
 
How did Trinere become a professional singer?
Since she was 5, she wanted to sing professionally. Her inspiration came from the likes of Natalie Cole, Phillis Hyman, Janet Jackson, Madonna, and Donna Summer. Trinere studied music at the University of Miami, where she led a popular band called Euphoria. Upon graduation, Trinere worked Rick James and his Mary Jane Girls.
 
Who produced most of her music?
That would be “Pretty Tony” Butler, a Miami DJ and famed dance freestyle and Electro/Hip-Hop producer. When they met in 1984, he was known in Miami as an up and coming Electro producer in Miami. As Electro/Hip-Hop music was very similar to Freestyle, it was easy for Pretty Tony to cross over.
 
Why were Trinere and Pretty Tony such a good duo?
She has the voice, beauty, and energetic presence that captivates an audience, while he has remarkable creativity. He skillfully incorporated sounds that attracted a large Hispanic audience. Together, they were the first to create the “true” Miami sound that came to be known as “Freestyle.”
 
What song did Trinere release first?
Her first single was “All Night,” which became a Freestyle classic and made Trinere the diva of the Miami Freestyle dance scene.
 
What other songs did she release in 1986?
She followed up with “How Can We Be Wrong,” and “Can’t Get Enough.” A re-mix for “All Night” was also released.
 
Did she release an album?
Yes, it was her self-titled album, released by Pandisc Records. For several weeks, the album was on Billboard’s Hot Black Albums chart. It contains the single “I’ll Be All You Ever Need,” which was on the Hot Dance Singles and Hot Club Play charts on Billboard in the summer of 1986.  It also had the Freestyle classics “I Know You Love Me” and “They’re Playing Our Song.” Soon after, Pandisc released two more Trinere hits, including “Can’t Stop The Beat.”
 
Can you tell us about Trinere’s family?
It seems that Trinere and Pretty Tony worked so well together that they started a family, giving birth to a son in 1989, Brandon C. Butler.
 
So did that end her recording career?
Nope. In 1993, Trinere released her last single. “When I Hear Music,” a re-mix of Debbie Deb’s production with Pretty Tony. She is enjoying family life, and still tours worldwide.
 
Where were Trinere’s fans?
All over the U.S., Europe, and South America. Trinere loves to perform, especially in Brazil.
