Who is Tolga?
Tolga Katas is currently a record producer and promoter.
Where and when was he born?
He was born on June 5, 1966, in Istanbul, Turkey.
How did he begin his music career?
At first he was a singer and songwriter. But then he found even more success as a producer of Freestyle music. He produced and promoted many multiplatinum artists on his record labels, Futura and Summit Entertainment, and contributing to sales of over 50 million records from artists like Linear and Stevie B..
What awards did he receive?
BMI awarded him the Song of the Year award for Linear’s Sending All My Love, and Tolga was nominated for the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. He is considered one of Freestyle music’s founding fathers and was one of the early producers to successfully work with digital music production technology. He is one of the first to create a hit record entirely on a computer.
How did he react to the beginning of MTV?
Katas took that as an opportunity to enter the growing world of media and network development, producing music videos and other shows in the early 1980s. Through the years, he kept on producing TV shows and special effects throughout the years, including recent cutting edge video content for DVD distribution, IPTV, ipods and mobile devices. He is a self-taught software programmer who has been programming in C and many other languages for numerous years. He founded of Longerliving.com and Dayinvestor.com and is now director of en2go International,Inc, working alongside Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and John Draper.
