“Wings of Love” Daize

“Wings of Love” is one of my favorite songs from Daize. “Girl” and “Don’t Want to Lose Your Love” are pretty awesome, too!

I’m pretty sure Power 96 played all three songs from Daize, and, if I remember correctly, many other stations across the country did, too. I used to love to get my weekly copy of Billboard magazine, so I could see the playlists of other freestyle stations. That way I’d know what to buy when I hit the record store. (Anybody else remember “Fast Tracks” in Fort Lauderdale?)

Take a listen to “Wings of Love” below, then let me know in the comments below if you think “Wings of Love” is Freestyle or Not?

“Fantasy Girl” Johnny O

Okay, this is a little bit of a trick. At least, I think everybody will agree Johnny O is a “king of freestyle”, and “Fantasy Girl” is a great example of what freestyle music is. I may be wrong.

Is “Fantasy Girl” by Johnny O considered freestyle or not? Please leave your comments below.

Freestyle or Not? You Decide!

We all have different experiences of freestyle music. I grew up near Miami listening to Power 96, so I am used to the freestyle music played on that station during the late 80s and early 90s. However, some people grew up in New York, Los Angeles or Chicago and have a slightly different experience with freestyle music.

Here’s your opportunity to help decide what is freestyle music and what is not. Watch this section for various songs, then post your comments! It’s that easy. At a minimum, you’ll have a great conversation with someone else who feels as passionately as you do about freestyle music.
